UV Link is a company created by students of Tartu Jaan Poska Gymnasium. Our mission is to prevent the spread of viruses through contact surfaces, such as door links. The company's product is a door handle that disinfects itself. In doing so, we help prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria in public and private spaces.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

UV DOOR HANDLE

This modern door handle is made of durable materials. The handle is made of quartz glass and has a UV diode inside, which kills 99% of bacteria. This technology has also been used to clean surgical instruments. The door handle also has sensors that detect the movement of people and help prevent contact between human skin and low-wavelength UV radiation.

UV DOOR HANDLE TESTS

Description: UV Link OÜ applied for funding from Enterprise Estonia to carry out tests with the help of the University of Tartu to ensure that the UV door handle can kill viruses and bacteria on its surface.

Aim of the project: To carry out biological efficiency tests of UV door hinges with the help of the University of Tartu. Biological tests provide an overview of the level of disinfection, depending on the radiation dose, and we will further develop the product according to the test results.

Project result: During the tests it was found that the UV door handle has both antiviral and antibacterial properties.
